Stuff We Don't Buy // Part 3

3. Household Cleaners

I decided to make my own cleaner to make my household a little safer and healthier. We have a little one on the way which would really limit what we should be cleaning with anyway. It also saves us money because we don't have separate cleaners for different areas of the house.

I bought a spray bottle for $0.97 at my local grocery store and filled it with white vinegar, water and about 20-30 drops of lemon essential oil which is known to have anti-bacterial properties. I usually have Super Washing Soda and Borax on hand to help with areas that are tougher to clean such as the shower. This recipe is also a cheap and easy alternative to having multiple, chemical based cleaners.

I haven't found any home made recipe for a window cleaner that I like so I'm hoping to buy a Norwex  Microfiber Window Cloth in the future which will save on cleaning windows and mirrors since it only require water.
