Creative Ways to Save Money

  1.  Don't use it? Sell it! Sites like Ebay, Amazon and Half.com are great places to start.
  2. Wash your hair every other day. To avoid grease rinse your hair with water or sprinkle some baby powder on to your scalp.
  3. Don't buy stuff you don't need. (It's a simple principle, but often easier said than done.)
  4. Make healthy choices. Healthy lifestyle = less $ spent on medical bills!
  5. DIY. There are a lot of ways to learn how to do it yourself including blogs, Google and YouTube.
  6. Know what your services include and take complete advantage of them. (Example: I found out that when your purchase tires at America's Tire Co. they rotated them for FREE. With my previous set of tires I had to take them to Wal Mart and pay for this service.)
  7. DON'T put the pedal to the medal. Driving slower uses less gas.
  8. Two words: Thrift. Store. Shopping at thrift stores is a great way to get new or gently used items at great prices. (Check your local thrift store for specials. My local Salvation Army has a 50% off sale every Saturday. I recently bought a brand new purse for $2.50. Also the money you spend at Salvation Army, Goodwill and most thrift stores is used to help those in need in your community).
  9. Date night trade off. If you are married and have children, find a family who is willing to watch your children for you while you and your spouse go on a date. The next week you can watch their kids and yours at your place and then switch off between families each week.
  10. Always. Use. Coupons. It's totally worth the time investment. I've received so many things free with coupons that I otherwise would have paid for. I've also been able to purchase certain items for pennies on the dollar.
  11. Don't be shy. When offered a deal, it's okay to ask, "Is that the best you can do?"
  12. Walk away. Sometimes if you can't decide this is the best option. This gives you the opportunity to think and pray about it and then make a decision. And, chances are the item will still be there tomorrow.
  13. Give to those in need. Go ahead do it, God will ALWAYS bless you for it! (Sometimes the reward is on earth and sometimes in Heaven - either way, it's totally worth it!)
